New Zealand Dominates Zimbabwe in Second Test

New Zealand took an early lead against Zimbabwe on the first day of the second test in Bulawayo, bowling out the home team for 125 and then reaching 174-1 in their reply. At stumps, New Zealand held a 49-run lead with opener Devon Conway on 79 and nightwatchman Jacob Duffy on 8.
The New Zealand bowlers were in excellent form, with Matt Henry taking a five-wicket haul (5-40) and debutant Zakary Foulkes securing 4-38. For Zimbabwe, the top scorer was Brendan Taylor, who made 44 in his return to the team after a three-and-a-half-year ban. Wicketkeeper Tafadzwa Tsiga also contributed with an unbeaten 33.
The partnership of Conway and Will Young was the cornerstone of New Zealand’s strong reply, with the pair putting on 162 runs for the first wicket before Young was bowled for 74 just before the end of the day’s play. New Zealand, who won the first test by nine wickets, is in a commanding position to secure a series victory.
