Iran Denies Truce Breach Amidst Israeli Retaliation Orders on Tehran

Date:

Iran has denied breaching the US President’s ceasefire, even as Israel proceeds with retaliation orders against Tehran. This conflicting narrative deepens the crisis and undermines efforts to de-escalate the 12-day conflict.
Despite Iran’s denial, air raid sirens blared in northern Israel, with the Israeli military claiming an Iranian missile launch and the interception of two projectiles. This prompted Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, to order a “forceful” response against targets in Tehran.
The US President had announced the ceasefire earlier on Tuesday, urging both parties to respect it. Both Israel and Iran had publicly accepted the truce, but the immediate allegations and counter-allegations underscore the fragility of the agreement and the challenges of its enforcement.
The conflict’s preceding hours were marked by intense exchanges, including Israel’s extensive airstrikes on Tehran and Iran’s missile attacks that caused casualties in Beersheba. The current situation suggests a high risk of renewed full-scale hostilities despite diplomatic efforts.
