Every Room Gets Its Own Hot Spring: Hotel Okura’s New Hakone Resort Opens in 2029

Date:

HAKONE, JAPAN – Hotel Okura is bringing a new kind of luxury to Hakone. In 2029, the brand will open Okura Resort Hakone Gora, its first resort in Japan—and every room will come with a private outdoor hot spring bath.

There will be 58 rooms in total, all featuring their own onsen filled with real Owakudani spring water. That means guests can relax whenever they want, without sharing baths or following a schedule.

The resort’s peaceful “Forest Hideaway” design by Gwenael Nicolas combines natural textures with modern comfort, creating a quiet escape in the mountains. Guests can also enjoy upscale teppanyaki dining and the thoughtful hospitality Hotel Okura is known for worldwide.

Whether visiting from Tokyo or overseas, travelers looking for a calm, high-end retreat will find a new favorite destination when the resort opens in 2029.
